The 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards are quickly approaching, and it seems that Rihanna is the girl to beat, with six nods. Taylor Swift isn't far behind the Talk That Talk singer with five nominations of her own.

Swift and Rihanna will battle against each other for EMA supremacy in three categories: Best Female, Best Pop and Best Look. Each of the ladies just graced the VMA stage earlier this month with eye-popping performances.

Rihanna is also up for Best Video against M.I.A. ("Bad Girls"), Lady Gaga ("Marry the Night"), Katy Perry ("Wide Awake") and viral-video sensation PSY ("Gangnam Style"). However, they have some stiff competition in Rihanna. She took home the Moonman for Video of the Year at the 2012 VMAs earlier this month for her "We Found Love" clip.

Justin Bieber and Perry (who has hosted the show twice before) are up for four prizes at the big show. Meanwhile, Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Lana Del Rey, Carly Rae Jepsen and Fun. will all see if they can take home one of the three awards they are each up for.

Fans can get in on the action beginning by voting in all EMA categories online at MTVEMA.com or m.mtvema.com on their mobile phones. Voting for EMA categories is open from now until Friday, November 9.
