Bastille To Perform Live In Singapore For The First Time

15 September 2014
Bastille, one of the UKʼs biggest new acts, will perform live in Singapore on 9 January 2015 at The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa.

As the 2014 BRIT Award winners for Best Breakthrough Act, Bastille have become a global success with their chart-topping indie-pop anthem ʻPompeiiʼ from their No. 1 debut album Bad Blood. Following hit singles ʻFlawsʼ, ʻThings We Lost in the Fireʼ and ʻOf the Nightʼ, Bastille have been selling out tours worldwide and will be bringing their exhilarating live show to Singapore for the first time.

The word Bastille brings to mind revolution, change and the storming of the old by the spirit of the new. When London-based singer/songwriter Dan Smith called his band Bastille, he was merely thinking of his birthday, July 14, Franceʼs Bastille Day. But for the biggest selling new British act of the last year, with hindsight, Smithʼs choice seems an ominously apt metaphor for their musical impact. Bastilleʼs current line-up was formed after Smith recruited keyboard player Kyle Simmons, bassist Will Farquarson and drummer Chris ʻWoodyʼ Wood.

While they only pressed 300 copies of their 2011 independent debut single ʻFlawsʼ, its video, edited by Smith using clips from Terrence Malickʼs 1973 cult classic Badlands, scored half a million hits on YouTube. After three singles they were selling-out their first headline UK tour before their album was even released. Bastilleʼs infectious fourth single, the anthemic ʻPompeiiʼ, went on to become the UKʼs most streamed song of all time… not to mention the most successful song to tackle the niche subject of death by volcanic ash inhalation in the annals of pop. The album Bad Blood which followed has since sold over 2 million copies worldwide.

Tickets to the show in Singapore are priced at S$98 (Early bird – Promo code to be released via Now/Live Facebook), S$110 (Advance) and S$125 (At the door) and will be available for purchase from Monday, 22 September 2014 online at www.sistic.com.sg from 9am, via phone bookings at +65 63485555 and at all authorized SISTIC outlets from 10am.
