TOKiMONSTA is shaking up the EDM game and here’s why!

5 October 2017
The sound of TOKiMONSTA is one that's hard to place. She's been called everything from weird to revolutionary, and without a doubt is shaking up the electronic music scene, as she mixes classical music with futuristic synths and hip-hop beats.

TOKiMONSTA, whose real name is Jennifer Lee, will be embarking on a world tour soon, which includes Asia, Europe and North America. If you missed her at Zoukout 2016 last year, you might see her at Laneway Festival 2018. Hearing her live is a whole other experience as she also incorporates multimedia into her set. Nothing like a 4D set to fully immerse you into the music!

Just like every other Asian kid, her parents made her learn piano as a hobby so that she'll grow up as a well-rounded child. It was only when Jennifer was laid off from her day job that she finally decided to pursue music full-time.

And I say that it was probably the best decision of her life, and a great thing to happen to the electronic music scene.

Don't believe me yet? Check out 'Spring Grace', which was performed as part of Napapijri's 4 Seasons, where artists reinterpreted Vivaldi's 4 Seasons.

TOKiMONSTA's new album, Lune Rouge, will be dropping later in October and there's no doubt that we're highly anticipating it! The album will showcase a slightly different sound as TOKiMONSTA has suffered some health issues. Being on the brink of death awakened something in her, and she wanted to make the music she wanted to create.

While you're waiting, listen to another one of her recent singles – 'Don't Call Me' featuring Malaysian sweetheart Yuna, who was our very first Asia Spotlight artist.
