Get to know: GLAY – Japan's top rock band!

Our Asia Spotlight artist of the month, GLAY, is pretty huge in Japan – having sold an estimated 51 million records since their debut in 1988. But it's alright if you're new to this J-rock OG. Here we have 5 music videos that GLAY have recommended to all regional fans who are new to them – in their own words!

TAKURO'S CHOICE:

ANATA TO IKITE IKU

"GLAY's newest single – I quite like this song. It is said that Japanese people tends to like ballad songs. I hope this song become your favorite, too."

TERU'S CHOICE:

HOWEVER

"I've listened the song over and over along my career. This song does symbolize "that time" when we've just started in 1997. We were very energetic, passionate. I may not be able to sing like that now. In the music video, you'll see my teeth haven't got straightened yet (laugh)."

HISASHI'S CHOICE:

SHIN ZOMBIE

"We created this music video with my favorite YouTube graphic artist, Ryusei. I haven't met him before, but I contacted him and told that I've been his big fan!"

JURO'S CHOICE:

SUPERNOVA EXPRESS 2016

"I have many favorite videos. I may pick the video that does represent a good relationship between us and our fans."

GLAY'S CHOICE:

MATA KOKO DE AIMASHOU

"We've shot this video in Shang-hai, China. This is beautiful video, but suddenly you'll see TERU flying in the air. We don't know why…(laugh). "Mata Koko de Aimashou" means "see you again". We put a message to our fans in Asia hoping we can meet again. Please enjoy the elaborate set design, and flying TERU!."
