After the tragic loss of music royalty Prince, we’ve got his back catalogue of iconic music on repeat.

But aside from gigantic influence on music as we know it, the pop culture icon was an Oscar-winner too, directing and starring in his own influential movies.

Get out these classic Prince films and celebrate one of music's greatest legends with a tribute night.

1. Purple Rain (1984)

Prince's debut starring role as 'The Kid' - a troubled band frontman - was also marked by his recording the film's soundtrack with his iconic album of the same name. The rock musical won the Oscar for best original song score.

2. Under The Cherry Moon (1986)

The first movie directed by and starring Prince, he plays a con-artist gigolo out to take advantage of Kristen Scott Thomas. The soundtrack, featuring the legendary 'Kiss,' was praised as his best yet.

3. Sign O' The Times (1987)

Prince's concert movie strung together live performance with a themed narrative, where he impressed with his acting and concert show, recorded part in the Netherlands and part in his studio in Minnesota

4. Graffiti Bridge (1990)

In the sequel to Purple Rain, the kid returns and is a club-owner. After a series of unfortunate events, he is challenged by his rival from the first movie to an epic music battle in order to keep his club.
