Quick! These games are free on Playstation 4 and Xbox One right now

4 January 2018

Now Christmas is well and truly over, we reckon the best way to beat the January Blues is to treat yourself to some new games, especially if you were lucky enough to get a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One for Christmas.

And I know what you're thinking; sure, some of us might have had shiny new games in our stockings, but not all of us have the cashflow to pick up anything new this month. Well, if you have either the PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live subscription, I have good news - the free games for January have been announced, and they're looking good!

Batman: The Telltale Series is free this month if you have a PS4 with a PS+ subscription / Telltale Games

So those of you with a PS4 and a PS+ sub will be able to pick up the Batman: The Telltale Series in its entirety, as well as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and party game That's You!. If you have PSVR - which is Sony's VR hardware - you can also grab StarBlood Arena.

PS3ers aren't left out, either; you can grab Uncanny Valley, Psycho-Pass Mandatory Happiness, Sacred 3, and Book of Unwritten Tales 2. That's a lot to keep you going for one month, right?!

If you have Xbox Live, you can grab The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 for free this month / NeocoreGames

As for Xbox Gold? Well, if you have Xbox Live, you'll be able to grab The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 all month, and the super creepy Zombi from January 16 until February 15, as well as Army of Two and Tomb Raider Underworld via backwards compatibility.

If you don't have Xbox Live or PS+ right now, don't forget to check any new games you might have picked up over Christmas - sometimes Sony and Microsoft put free trials in the case!
