Bobbi Kristina Commemorates Whitney Houston's Birthday With New Tattoos

13 August 2012
While fans were honoring the late Whitney Houston's birthday Thursday with hashtags and social networking dedications, Bobbi Kristina celebrated her mom's life with some brand-new tattoos.

Bobbi Kris took to Instagram on Thursday and revealed her new ink: the letters W and H with four surrounding doves on each wrist. "Tat tat tatted YURP.. ;) now your truly ALWAYS with us mommy (: we love you," she tweeted.

The pop icon would have turned 49, and six months after her tragic death, fans and family continue to keep her spirit alive. Whitney's final film, "Sparkle," will hit theaters in August.

"We challenged each other a lot in the studio from the first moment we laid eyes on each other, but it was a lot of fun," R. Kelly told MTV News of his and Whitney's dynamic when working on the music for the soundtrack to the film. "Whitney was a ball of fun."

R&B singer Monica remembers Whitney not only as an idol, but as a friend and confidant. "Losing somebody that you idolize is one thing, but losing a friend is another thing," she told MTV News in April. "I look back over many, many years of my life, and Whitney wasn't the type of person that would call and ask if I was OK — she would actually fly to me. She would come looking for me, she would sit with me.

"I really appreciate the fact that for almost three decades she gave us music that will last," she continued. "My grandchildren will know exactly who she is; my great-grandchildren will know exactly who Whitney Houston is."
