The Lion King’s live-action remake gets a trailer — and we're feeling all the emotions

Prepare for some serious ~nostalgic feels~ because the first teaser trailer for the live-action remake of The Lion King is here!

The trailer begins with Mufasa telling Simba, "Everything the light touches is our kingdom. But a king's time as rule rises ad falls like the sun. One day, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king," and shows each character welcoming Simba as 'Circle of Life' plays. 

If some of the scenes hit a strong nostalgic core, that's also because this trailer recreates some iconic images from the original film's teaser trailer. Here's a side-by-side comparison to show the similarities.

Set to hit cinemas in July next year, The Lion King features an all-star voice cast including Beyoncé as Nala, Donald Glover as Simba, Eric Andre as Azizi, Billy Eichner as Timon, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, John Oliver as Zazu, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari and more.
