One of the most infamous comic book supervillains of all time is getting a bit of a cinematic makeover.
Venom, a popular character from the world of Marvel Comics, is best known for his nightmarish, grosteque appearance, and his web of diabiolical schemes. But in 2018's Venom, the film presents a much different kind of Venom — an anti-hero, and one operating without the opposing force and presence of Spider-Man.
Tom Hardy takes up the mantle of the titular character, portraying disgruntled journalist Eddie Brock who stumbles upon a sinister alien substance, a Symbiote, which bonds with Brock to form the supernaturally strong and vengeful Venom.
While the film received an overall negative reception with its sparse teaser trailer, and its portrayal of Venom as anything but a supervillain, this new trailer has gotten many fans changing their minds.

With supporting roles by Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate, Venom is certainly going to give us a fresh and unexpected spin on a classic character — especially since this film will not take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film is scheduled for release Q4 of 2018.
