BTS choreographer Vinh talks about how he ended up working with The Chainsmokers

27 April 2018

Vinh Nguyen may have only just turned 30, but his resume reads with a sprawling and impressive list.

Working with an eclectic list of performers, from BTS and EXO to Cirque du Soleil and the NBA, Vinh has traversed the globe and brought his inimitable dance skills with him, resulting in many memorable adventures on the job.

Still, nothing could prepare him for the moment he was summoned by EDM duo The Chainsmokers, who saw a clip of a dance routine he performed with his primary dance group The Kinjaz, set to the duo's hit single 'Don't Let Me Down'.

Vinh's dance journey, from Cirque du Soleil to BTS

The experience with The Chainsmokers, which resulted in an opportunity to work with them on a recent live concert, has struck Vinh positively in many ways.

The vivacious choreographer continues to dedicate his life to his job, and a recent highlight included a spot performing with TroyBoi at Coachella 2018.

The global dance scene is brimming with talent and competition, so Vinh has this to say for up-and-comers.

"Create authentically. Create for who you are. There's no other person like you out there, so if you are you — to the best of your ability — then you are already unique."
