We've introduced the Best Southeast Asia Act nominees, but there's even more to vote for to rep the region. In the land of K-pop, there are 5 acts contending for the MTV EMA Best Korea Act — from the vibrant Cosmic Girls to the idols of PENTAGON.
Here are the acts in the category, which you can vote for here.
Cosmic Girls
Their fandom name is Ujung, which translates to "friendship", and that's all you need to know about how inviting and joyous this girl group is.
(G)I-DLE
This six-member girl group are making waves in their homeland for their fiery dance moves and striking diversity in music — from 'LATATA', a song that dips its toes into trap and reggaeton, to the mellow R&B that's popular these days. It won't be long before (G)I-DLE are, too.
Golden Child
Affectionately known to early followers as The Woollim Boys, being the second major act to debut under Woollim Entertainment, Golden Child's winning charm and hooks are already gaining extra momentum in a competitive K-pop environment. Will they win your vote as well?
Loona
Their group name means "Girl of the Month", Loona — stylized as LOOΠΔ — came together through a series of solo and join releases by its members, eventually coalescing into this twelve-member group that isn't just the flavour of the month, they're fit to dominate years to come.
PENTAGON
Moving fast and loose since their introduction in 2016, PENTAGON already have 10 EPs to their name, including three sung in Japanese. PENTAGON is full of potential, along with plenty more music in their arsenal.
