LOL! Zara Featured A Mini Skirt with Pepe The Frog!

19 April 2017
Spanish high street retailer Zara was just dragged BIG TIME after they released a denim mini skirt featuring a Pepe The Frog lookalike.

'Pepe The Frog' was created in 2005 by Matt Furie as a harmless Internet meme but has since been officially classified as a 'hate symbol' by the Anti Defamation League.

"...In recent years, with the growth of the 'alt-right' segment of the white supremacist movement, a segment that draws some of its support from the above-mentioned Internet sites, the number of 'alt-right' Pepe memes has grown, a tendency exacerbated by the controversial and contentious 2016 presidential election," the ADL says.

"Though Pepe memes have many defenders, the use of racist and bigoted versions of Pepe memes seems to be increasing, not decreasing."

A Twitter user was the first to notice Zara's questionable Pepe skirt, which ignited a social media fire and eventually lead the brand to pull the skirt altogether.

Very awkward indeed.
