Heralding from various local bands, the quintet, known as Pleasantry, is made up of Samantha, Ariff, Adel, Daniaal and Isa.
Formed in late 2010, their sound is rife with smart, eccentric guitar-pop and is a seemingly tasty concoction of daylight and moonlight, spanning slow and melodic as well as upbeat, lively tunes.
Pleasantry feeds on eclectic music cultures and dreamed-up scenarios based on real-life scripts for inspiration. The band’s diversified musical interests and knowledge have influenced the manifestation of resounding tones, strung harmoniously with the use of various instruments such as the ukulele and melodica.
Pleasantry released their EP, Porcelain Lenses, in February 2012 with four tracks on record and also produced their autumnal music video for the lead single “Near and Dear”.
