Full Biography

Hailing from South Korea, 2AM is fast becoming one of the hottest boy bands to emerge out of the country. Producer JY Park named the group 2AM, referring the group’s name as the time as when one’s emotions hit peak position when one looks back on the day.


Jo Kwon, the leader of the 2AM, went through the longest training. Jo Kwon was recruited by producer JY Park through ‘SBS Gifted Youth Development Project’. He went through the intense physical training of 8 years before he has the opportunity to sing in a group. In 2008, he made his debut in 2AM with Lim Seulong, Jung Jinwoon and Lee Changmin. Seulong preformed under R&B band previously, and Jinwoon played in his high school rock band. Changmin won the audition with his outstanding singing ability and he made his debut having undergone only two month of training.


The group made their debut with the ballad “This Song” and continued their streak with “Confession of a Friend,” “Never Let You Go,” “I Did Wrong.” With TV appearances, awards and more, 2AM’s ever increasing popularity not only limited to South Korea but also spreading across Asia and beyond.
