Definitely, Maybe is absolutely, perhaps one of the tiniest percentages of romantic comedies produced out of Hollywood that actually makes it worthwhile to shed some cash to catch at the cinema.

This love story stretches from the early 90s and carries right on through to today. Even though the focus is on Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) retelling his love life to his rather curious and newly "sex-educated" tween daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), it also draws in point many political affiliations associated with the 90s era. Be it the generous forgiving goodbye to Bill Clinton's impeachment or the nation's (then?) wholehearted support in voting George Bush for president.

It is refreshing to see a multi-faceted take on relationships with regard to Will Hayes choosing his life partner. All three females centering round his life have taken an alternative route at one point or another - exploring lesbianism, gerontophilia and well, philophobia.

Though it may seem as though the script format is similar to the television series, How I Met Your Mother, you can be rest assured that Definitely, Maybe is miles ahead in terms of comic relief, relationship pacing, the actual acting capability of the cast and above all, it keeps you right at the edge of your seat, clawing your eyes out in hopes of Will Hayes choosing the right partner based on the mental pros and cons chart you have mapped out in your head.

Hat's off to Academy Award nominee, Abigail Breslin's performance. Despite her sporadic role in the movie, it never stopped her from stealing the screen the moment she got on. Hilarious, charismatic and at the same time vulnerable.

Not to mention, the question she posed, "What is the boy word for sl*t?" makes you leave the cinema in a muse.
