Floorplay, the sizzling international dance musical, is set to fire you up from your seats and make you want to get on your feel to salsa, rhumba, cha cha, waltz or tango, subconsciously in unison. With a combination of the world's best dancers, modern age choreography, stunning costumes and spectacular music, it is no wonder why Floorplay has been getting rave reviews from all over the world.
Wowing the audience right from the start, Floorplay's twenty-troupe dancers discreetly walk amongst the audience, touching and caressing unsuspecting viewers. The minute the music comes on, it's an immediate breathtakingly high voltage two and a half hour long showcase of different dance styles ranging from the 18th century straight through to the 21st.
The flow and synchronization of the dancers are flawless as they go through scene by scene so effortlessly and tirelessly. With the amount of booty-shaking and body-pumping they put in, it sure takes a lot of strength and endurance to not look at all out of breath. Even though the ballads do seem a little draggy, the fast-paced dances make up for them.
Percussionists Alex Leon from America and Henry Soriano from Philippines, never miss a beat. The vocalists however, with Rebecca Verrier and Kieron Kulik, do get pitchy and nasal at times when they belt out the songs. Also, their narrative during the musical gets superfluous as it doesn't really give a clear vision of what's happening on set.
Floorplay is a definite must-see for those who have a passion for Latin and ballroom dancing. The countless amounts of creative dance moves, music and costumes will definitely have you look on in awe.
