Riding on the strength of Tanya Chua's grungy and assured vocals, this soundtrack to Singapore's latest attempt at winning the capricious movie-going crowd,"Chicken Rice War,"has the distinct flavor of robust beer consumed with just the right amount of attitude and gumption.Tanya, already a celebrity singer in Taiwan with a couple of chart-topping songs, is one of a few true-blue talents who can write, warble, as well as wake up the dead with her powerhouse stage showmanship.
