Warning: MTV's hit show Jackass featured silly pranks, absurd antics and idiotic stunts performed by total jackasses. Leading the sick and twisted pack of sadomasochists was Johnny Knoxville, who probably broke just about every bone in his body during Jackass's three seasons. His motto most definitely should have been: "Don't try this at home, kids."

Johnny's gang of mischievous misfits -- Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius and Wee-Man -- played hysterically horrific tricks on each other and unleashed their unabashedly brutal comedy on unsuspecting onlookers, all seemingly for the sole purpose of making each other laugh.

From daring skateboard stunts and BMX jousting to cramming crawfish down their drawers and cooking and eating a "vomit omelet," the Jackass boys tried it all. The more off-the-wall, disgusting and dangerous the stunt, the better.

Jackass became so popular that several celebrities knowingly participated in a few pranks on the show. Brad Pitt appeared in two skits -- one where he was "abducted" and another where he donned a monkey suit while running through the streets. Also caught on tape were NBA all-star Shaquille O'Neal dry-humping Wee-Man and Steve-O; skateboarding legend Tony Hawk putting his wheels on "the loop" with Bam Margera; and hip-hop impresario Diddy impersonating Johnny Knoxville.

Although Jackass ended in 2002, it hasn't stopped the gang from continuing to be total jackasses themselves, most notably (and perhaps surprisingly) on the silver screen. MTV Films released Jackass: The Movie in 2002 and its sequel, Jackass: Number Two, in 2006. Both movies pummeled all competition at the box office upon release.

There have also been several successful Jackass spin-offs on MTV Networks.

Chris Pontius and Steve-O went on to star in Wildboyz, a reality show that focused on dropping the duo into exotic locales and watching them embrace local customs, native inhabitants and indigenous animal species. Whether riding unwilling animals or eating live bugs, Steve-O and Chris pushed the limits and discovered just how wild they could be.

After Jackass, Bam Margera appeared in Viva La Bam, which featured Bam trying out his over-the-top practical jokes on his family members -- including his ever-patient and understanding parents, April and Phil -- and tackling all sorts of self-destructive challenges. After five seasons of Viva La Bam, Margera went on to document his engagement and marriage to the love of his life, Missy, on Bam's Unholy Union.

Meanwhile, King Jackass himself, Johnny Knoxville, went Hollywood, taking roles in such non-Jackass-like movies as The Dukes of Hazzard, The Ringer and Men in Black II.
