The Killers Get RED for Christmas
By News Desk
The Killers are among the myriad bands offering up songs to (RED)WIRE, a new digital online weekly magazine which was launched on World Aids Day (Dec 1). The Killers have been supporting Project (RED) and The Global Fund for three years now and joined forces with Elton John and Neil Tennant from The Pet Shop Boys for the Christmas tune, "Joseph, Better You Than Me".
All proceeds from the sales of each Christmas single go directly to (RED) to support their efforts in Africa. The Killers have been urging fans through their website who have the "financial ability" to join. Subscribers to (RED)WIRE pay $5 a month in the US for access to exclusive audio and video content.
The Killers' Day & Age was released on Nov 24 via Island Records and reached #1 on the UK album charts and #6 in the US.
