China Unhappy With Chinese Democracy

Not everyone is happy about the new Guns N' Roses album. China's political leaders have voiced their discontent over the band's latest release.

A publication of China's ruling communist party recently labelled the album Chinese Democracy as a venomous attack on the country. The album features lyrics like "If your great wall rocks, blame yourself" and provocative references to a banned Chinese cult.

The official Guns N' Roses website is also currently blocked in China.


U2 Drops Songs By Rick Rubin

In the run up to their 2009 album launch, Irish rock band U2 has scrapped the tracks mixed by renown producer Rick Rubin.

The band had hit the studios with Rubin, but have blamed the difference in recording styles as the reason for the fall out. U2 has since teamed up with long time producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois for their album, which is slated for release in Febuary 2009.

Rubin is famous for his work on albums by Linkin Park, Metallica and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.


Kings Of Leon Album Named Best Album Of 2008

An online magazine has revealed their top 50 list of albums for this year, and indie rockers Kings of Leon have clinched pole position.

Q magazine, a British music publication crowned the American band's album Only The Night as the Best Album of 2008. Kings of Leon's 4th album shot straight to the top of the charts when it was released in October and features hits like "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody."

Other albums in the top 50 include Coldplay's Viva la Vida and Off With Their Heads by the Kaiser Chiefs.


Muse To Record "Hardest Song Ever"

Fans of rock band Muse, listen up - the trio have begun work on their fifth studio album.

According to frontman Matt Bellamy, this new album will feature the hardest song that he has ever written. The singer added that it would be more of a symphony than a song, and has been working on the orchestral elements over the last few years.

The last Muse album was the 2006 offering Black Holes and Revelations.


Leona Lewis To Release Snow Patrol Cover

R&B sensation Leona Lewis is set to release her highly anticipated cover of an indie rock song.

The X-factor winner had recorded her rendition of Snow Patrol's "Run" and even performed it live earlier this month. Lewis's record label shelved the song's release at the last minute, but has since decided to put the single up for online download after complaints from the star's fans.

The online download will be available from the end of the week.
