MTV Honours Sir Paul McCartney!

MTV has announced that they are honoring one of the legends of the music industry - and most famous Liverpudlians of all time - Sir Paul McCartney, with a special Ultimate Legend Award at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards.
The ex-Beatle's career started in the 1950s and he is now listed in the Guinness World Records as the most successful musician and composer in pop music history.
As well as an incredibly successful and continuing music career, Sir Paul is also a lead patron and co-founder - with Mark Featherstone-Witty - of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). Opened in June 1996 it is now one of the foremost centres of artistic excellence in the UK.
Now that we've made the pilgrimage to Liverpool, we couldn't resist honoring one of the men that made it the music Mecca that it is!
