Usher Hopes Ladies-Only One Night Stand Tour Proves He's A Sex Symbol And A Family Man
By Jocelyn Vena (MTV.com)
The ladies have always had a soft spot for Usher, and he plans on showing them his gratitude while promoting his latest album, Here I Stand. The R&B singer has revealed that he is planning a ladies-only tour, aptly titled One Night Stand, according to The Associated Press.
"There's only a few artists that can pull that off," he said. "I feel like I've had such a connection with my audience. This album, I felt like, was definitely the type of one that was more intimate. So what better way to get up close and personal than to make it all women?"
He also said that dates and details of stops at 15 intimate venues are being worked out for the One Night Stand Tour. Now that Usher is a married family man, he hopes to use to this tour to prove that he still lives up to his sex-symbol status.
"The ladies like to see that masculine build," he said. "They question if I still got it."
And if the tour isn't sexy enough, Usher, who already has a line of perfume and cologne, has plans to start a line of men's and women's undergarments and intimate apparel.
Though he's busy planning his tour, working on the video for his single "Trading Places" and designing underwear, the 29-year-old has made room in his schedule for some football too. He'll join Keith Urban and Natasha Bedingfield at the NFL's annual kickoff concert Thursday in New York City.
Usher told the AP that he's keeping his fingers crossed that the gig will lead to playing the half time show at the Super Bowl in February. "I'm hoping that this leads, definitely, to that. This whole process is basically, 'You scratch my back; I'll scratch yours,' " he said.
