Kanye West's Glow In The Dark Tour Hits Singapore!

Renowned American rapper and producer, Kanye West, will finally be hitting the shores of Singapore for the very first time. The multi Grammy awards artist will perform live in Singapore as part of his Glow In The Dark tour on Friday, September 19, 2008, 8pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Kanye West Glow In The Dark tour is the No. 6 highest grossing tour in the world this year, attended by more than 500 000 people. Quoted by P. Diddy, "This concert changed my life and I fell in love with Hip-Hop again."

West has also hired Madonna's choreographer/director, Jamie King, for the Glow In The Dark tour. In addition to his work with Madonna, King has also worked with Prince, Shakira, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey, and also served as director for Christina Aguilera's Back to Basics Tour; his work has earned him three Emmy Award nominations and five MTV Video Music Award nominations.

Since first emerging from Chicago in the early part of this decade, there is no turning back for the superstar. He released his debut album The College Drop-out in 2005, followed by Late Registration in 2005 and Graduation, his third album last year. His numerous hits include "Through the Wire," "Jesus Walk," "All Falls Down," "Good Life," "You don't Know my Name," "Diamonds from Sierra Leone," "Gold Digger," "Stronger," "Can't tell me Nothing," and "Homecoming."

Named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, Kanye West has won ten Grammy awards, all three albums earned him the Best Rap Album at the Grammy awards amidst other numerous awards, critical acclaim, and commercial success. West is also known for his collaborations, his albums featured artists like Chris Martin from Coldplay, Adam Levine from Maroon Five, Jamie Foxx, Lupe Fiasco and many more. West also runs his own record label GOOD Music. His mascot and trademark is a teddy bear, which has appeared on the covers of his three albums as well as the singles "Stronger" and "Homecoming."

It was half way through the Europe leg of the Glow In The Dark tour when Kanye's mother passed away. He dedicated the song "Hey Mama" to her on the rest of the tour dates. It has been said that as soon as Kanye West finishes his tour, he will begin work on his new album.
