By News Desk
For the first time ever, music viewers from around the region will see a unique alliance between Asia's reigning queen of Mando-Pop Stefanie Sun and Singapore's cult Indie band Electrico, all in an effort to draw awareness to the humanitarian relief for disaster victims in Asia. The two will be performing a special song of positivity, optimism, hope and faith, titled "Save Our Souls," specially written by Electrico for the charity cause. MTV is proud to be able to showcase the debut of this meaningful collaboration and performance on the MTV Asia Awards platform.
This year's MTV Asia Awards will be an unforgettable celebration that unites music with positivity, love and faith as we see movers and shakers of the music industry join MTV in the call for action at the Arena of Stars in Genting-City of Entertainment, Malaysia.
According to IFRC, about two-thirds of the world's natural disasters occurs in Asia and with the many affected in the recent tragedies that occurred in Myanmar, China and the Philippines, the relief will be able to provide hope and comfort to the victims. Leveraging on popularity of the pan-regional music awards show, MTV hopes to reach out to the audiences across Asia in an effort to garner support and donations for the cause.
All proceeds will go to International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to support their regional disaster relief programmes. Donations can be pledged by logging on to www.ifrc.org.
The Singapore artists, who were also nominated for the Favourite Artist Singapore Award, will join the star-studded artist line-up for a night of exhilarating music performances.
