Movie Minute: You Don't Mess With The Zohan
By News Desk
In the new comedy You Don't Mess With The Zohan, Adam Sandler plays "Zohan" - an Israeli soldier-turned-hairdresser. The comedian co-wrote the flick and he filled us in on what inspired him to write the part.
"There were these Israeli guys when I was a kid. I always thought they were, you know, they were known for being incredible soldiers, so I always kept my eyes on those guys."
Adam told us that he worked with Saturday Night Live scribe Robert Smigel and Knocked Up's writer-director Judd Apatow to make his childhood dream a reality.
"I thought it would be funny to see one of them have a secret dream of becoming a hairstylist and stuff. So, me and Smigel and Apatow put this movie together based around that."
Fans can see the finished product, You Don't Mess With The Zohan in Singapore on June 19.
