Movie Minute: Iron Man

In Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. plays "Tony Stark," a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, he builds a high-tech suit of armor, escapes captivity and vows to protect the world as the legendary Marvel comic hero, "Iron Man." Swingers star and Elf director Jon Favreau was at the helm of this flick and spoke about working on it.

"Well, it's fun to direct Iron Man because he's one of the superheroes that nobody's made a movie about yet and he's the biggest one of the original sort of pantheon of Marvel characters."

Downey said one of the things that got him excited for the film was wearing the Iron Man suit. "Yeah, it's a badass suit. You know, compartments open and do this and it's so autonomous and he can interact with it so well." While Gwyneth - who plays "Pepper Potts" - doesn't get to wear the suit, she told us that Marvel comics do hold a special place in her heart. "I grew up with Marvel comics around the house and my brother had Spiderman underoos and Spiderman sheets and Spiderman everything, so I was exposed to it. Although, I'm a girl, so, let's face it."

Terrence Howard also stars in the film and spoke about the rest of the cast. "Everyone of the main cast has either won an Academy Award or been nominated for an Academy Award."
