Movie Minute: Nim's Island
By News Desk
Nim's Island is the new action/adventure/family film starring Abigail Breslin as a young "Indiana Jones" type character. When her father, played by Gerard Butler, goes missing on an island, she gets the help of a local reclusive author, played by Jodie Foster, to help find him. Foster said she enjoyed working with Butler on the set. "He's sort of always performing and always giggling and I love seeing him in this movie because he makes fun of the characters he plays in dramas. I think we both are in some ways. I am making fun of my fearful characters and he is making fun of his big hero characters and it was a blast for us." Foster explained the message behind the film. "I think it's a message of self-reliance and of making decisions that are strong decisions, because they are what you know is right. And believing in yourself and self-reliance is a big issue for young girls."
