Movie Minute: Shutter

By News Desk

Shutter is the new horror movie starring Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor as a recently married couple who head to Japan for their honeymoon. After a bizarre accident, they discover ghostly images in the photographs they've been taking during the trip. Strange things begin to happen to the couple as they skeptically begin to believe ghosts do exist. The film was shot in Japan and Jackson told us about the culture shock. "I never felt like I was in such a different culture as I did when I was in Japan. Because the basic things that you and I believe about life and people are just not the same cultural assumptions that people in Japan have, they just come at life from a very different perspective and it's shocking. Sometimes you are like, 'Oh, oh, you are not with me at all on this are you?' No, okay, nevermind." Jackson explained why you should go see this movie. "Well you should go see this movie first because it is a really good date movie, you know you can go and hold your girl's hand when she gets scared, but you should see it because, hopefully it will scare the pants off of you and make you a little uncomfortable as you're walking back to your car after the movie's done (laughs)." Shutter is a remake of the 2004 Thai film of the same name.
