Lindsay Lohan Set To Join Charles Manson's 'Family' In Upcoming Flick: Report
By Shawn Adler (MTV.com)
Lindsay Lohan has been arrested. She's been to rehab. She's been to the top of the Hollywood hill and tumbled off.
Now the oft-troubled actress is going to commit murder - in a movie, at any rate - as Nancy Pitman, loyal and devoted member of Charles Manson's "Family," according to E! News.
"Yes, I am doing it with Lindsay," Brad Wyman, the film's producer, told the network.
Despite the fact that the actress has only recently completed rehab, the film is still insured for her participation, E! reports.
Appropriately called Manson's Girls, the flick will follow the exploits of Manson's California commune, which rose to national prominence after several of its members infiltrated the former home of record producer Terry Melcher and brutally killed five people, including actress Sharon Tate.
Pitman, a Southern California native introduced to Manson when she was still a teen, was reportedly at the home the night of the murders. She was convicted for criminal conspiracy and served 18 months in prison. Later, Pitman joined the Aryan Brotherhood before marrying one of her co-conspirators and moving to Oregon.
Manson's Girls is the second recent Lohan project to center on the exploits of a psychopathic Svengali, following her turn in Chapter 27, an upcoming movie about assassin Mark David Chapman, the man who killed Beatle John Lennon.
But while some would view these roles as big steps into adulthood and a serious film career, not everyone is thrilled by Lindsay's recent choices, notably her father Michael.
"I really hope that Lindsay gets back to the kinds of films that led to her success," he told UsMagazine.com. "When you're the kind of star Lindsay is, you have to appeal to a general audience, not just a specific audience. I'd like to see her do more mainstream films."
Lindsay's next film role may be just that. The actress is currently tapped to star alongside Jack Black in Ye Olde Times, which begins shooting this spring.
