Wang Lee Hom Brings Down The House At Stadium Cove
By News Desk
Wang Lee Hom brought the house down at the "I @Floating on Music" concert on December 2 at Stadium Cove in Singapore.
The concert, which also featured Singaporean crooner Huang Yi Da and Malaysian Idol winner Daniel Lee, was held outdoors against the scenic backdrop of Kallang River to allow fans and music lovers to experience music differently.
Close to 4,000 people queued and thronged the otherwise tranquil Stadium Cove to catch Lee Hom perform live at the exclusive music event.
Huang Yi Da and Daniel Lee each did a thirty minute performance, while local Chinese radio station Yes 933 celebrity DJ, Mary Bukoh played the rose among the thorns as the host of the night.
But the star was Lee Hom and he made a spectacular entrance by arriving singing on a floating platform on the Kallang River. His rousing rendition of his Chinese and rock influenced "盖世英雄" (Heroes of Earth) hit sent the crowd into a screaming frenzy.
The floating platform delivered Lee Hom right up to the stage set on the edge of the Kallang River waters. Joined by dancers decked out in funky white outfits who were part of his entourage flown-in from Taiwan, Lee Hom dressed in a shimmery vest and tanktop, sang both familiar hits and songs from his latest album which showcased his impressive songwriting and composing skills, including ballads like "Forever Love."
The singer, famous for his love ballads, treated the crowds to beautifully arranged versions of his immensely popular hits, including "爱你等于爱自己" (Loving You Is Like Loving Me) and "一首简单的歌" (A Simple Song), "Kiss Goodbye" and "流泪手心" (Tearing Palm).
Lee Hom also treated his fans to a demonstration of his versatility, with live performances at the baby grand piano that incorporated ad libbing and wonderful demonstrations of his scatting ability on songs like "Love Love Love."
Together with an energetic drum solo performance and polished stint on the keyboards, Lee Hom wowed the crowd and once again showed why he's one of the most popular and talented singers in Asia.
