John Goldie Brings Acoustic Funk To Singapore
By Lennat Mak
John Goldie, world class acoustic guitarist, will be bringing a night of acoustic guitar performance of jazz, blues, Celtic and funk to Singapore come this November.
Famed for his acoustic guitar virtuosity, John was initially self-taught on the instrument and gradually made his progression into rock and blues band when he was 12. A fateful meeting with jazz guitarist Martin Taylor inspired John to change his musical direction, allowing him to venture into duo band setup and as well as joining the winning group Spirit of D'jango. Throughout his career, John also worked with various world players, recorded and wrote materials for his own trio and solo projects.
John's debut appearance in Singapore will feature special guest Chin Yen Choong, a young and accomplished Erhu player, who has received countless awards and accumulated a wealth of performance experience. Local acoustic pop duo Jack & Rai from the band EIC will also be performing at the event.
