The Clipse Score Deal With Sony Music

By MTV.com

The Clipse couldn't be any happier: Malice and Pusha T's deal with Sony Music is done, they told MTV News.

Sony exec Kyambo "Hip Hop" Joshua - who co-manages Kanye West and Lil Wayne - spearheaded the deal, under which the Clipse inked a home for their Re-Up Gang Records.

"I heard Hip wanted to be down; the next thing I know he's in Houston with half my management team," Pusha T said. "Then next thing [I know,] half my management team is in New York with Rick Rubin. It was working just like that."

The first music to come out of the deal will be the Re-Up Gang's next, yet-untitled LP, after which a full Clipse album will follow.

"For the Re-Up [album], we're slated to get in [the studio] with Danjahandz, Timbaland, of course [Pharrell]. Dame Grease gave me some incredible records. He's the truth. [A] couple of other guys [are also onboard]. That's how we're trying to go in with it. We're keeping it funky."
