Daft Punk Exclusive Video Premiere!
By Lennat Mak
French duo Daft Punk will be premiering their video "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" exclusively for 48 hours on MTV Asia come this Saturday, October 27, 12.55pm local time.
Directed by Oliver Gondry, the video is inspired by The Beastie Boys' concert film Awesome; I F**kin' Shot That! and contains footage shot by audience on 250 cameras at Daft Punk's Brooklyn performance in KeySpan Park.
"Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" is a track taken from the duo's 2001 album Discovery and first released as a single back in 2001. This new version of the song is a live version taken from Daft Punk's new album Alive 2007.
According to Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk, the duo wants the video to "maintain the integrity of the live Daft Punk experience." Due to the 250 cameras used to record the video, Daft Punk has pushed the 3 flashes/cuts per-second rule to the absolute limit. Which goes to say, "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" do contain extreme flashing images, so do exercise caution while viewing.
