Saw Loser Bassist And Guitarist Endorsed By ESP Guitars

By PC

Saw Loser bassist Jimmy Tuppen and guitarist Mashashi Kimura have earned an endorsement deal with customized guitar maker ESP guitars.

The sole agent for ESP in Singapore, Davis Guitar -- located at the basement of Peninsula Shopping Centre -- will be providing support for Jimmy and Mashashi. Jimmy is the proud owner of the ESP Vintage 4 Distressed while Masashi chose the ESP Eclipse II.

"Obviously what drew me in with ESP was the way the bass sounded. I've heard them before and they've been a great brand of basses in my eyes but of course I wanted to know the real feel and sound first hand. Needless to say I loved it right away when I tried it in the shop. It has a gripping sound and a really chewy/meaty natural tone to it, and with new strings it sounds nice and metallic/sharp. The pickups have a lot to do with it. Seymour Duncan P pickups have always been good at capturing the unique sound of the guitars itself but not only are there P pickups, there's a J pick up too just above the bridge. It adds the growly tone to it which is a good addition to our [Saw Loser] sound. So yeah overall it's perfect for me because it's also a lot lighter than any other basses i've played with and it's easy for me to jump and run around on stage! Plus it just looks cool!" says Jimmy.

"The Eclipse pretty much has all the elements I like about the guitars I've played in the past. Not just the looks, it plays way smooth and it makes me confident. The body rings solid, the consistency of the neck and tuning and so much more coolness. It's also probably the most expensive guitar I've ever owned," adds Masashi.
