Rachael Yamagata 'Live' In Singapore On March 17
By PC
American singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata will be playing her first concert in Singapore at the Mosaic Music Festival in Singapore on Saturday, March 17, 2007.
The 28-year-old half-Japanese half Italian/German released her first full-length album, Happenstance, in 2004 to critical acclaim. Her piano-driven indie rock songs endear her to a young generation of music fans who probably are also into artists like Fiona Apple, Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan.
Rachael is currently putting the finishing touches to her second album. In a phone interview with MTVAsia.com, she said, "The new album is pretty much finished. I might change the order of the songs... we're at the artwork stage and getting our press plan together. We're doing the logistics, the credits for the record... things like that... but musically everything's mixed and mastered."
Rachael also informed us that she will play a couple of new songs at the concert in Singapore.
"Usually I travel with strings, but not on this trip. I'm going to bring a rhythm section with two guitarists. I'll play piano and some guitar and it'll be hopefully a very dynamic show comprising of rock numbers and some ballads. It's going to be just a good live entertaining show with songs from the album and EPs and a couple from the new record. Song wise it'll be a variety too."
Catch Rachael Yamagata for the first time in Singapore at the Mosaic Music Festival, which is currently running till March 18, 2007. Tickets are running out fast!
