Sandwich, Up Dharma Down, Itchyworms And More To Perform At The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards 2006!

MTV Philippines shows that it's all in the family, as the first set of performers for The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards 2006 are revealed. Some of these year's hottest groups are ready to rock the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Casino Filipino (NAIA), Paranaque City on the main night, August 14, 2006. Sandwich, Urbandub, Up dharma Down, Itchyworms, Kamikazee and Parokya ni Edgar are just the first of an electrifying line-up slated to perform at the most anticipated awards show of the year.

Since 2000, The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards has been recognizing the best and the brightest from each year's crop of musicians and music video makers. The awards show has been established as the country's biggest annual music video awards event -- what with an ever-expanding number of winners and nominees added onto The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards dynasty over the years.

And, just like the past MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards, the celebrations are centered on a single significant theme. This year, the event pays tribute to the people that MTV considers part of its growing family: musicians, music video makers, and music lovers from all over. Expect some old-school Pinoy family telenovela action during the main show and the on-air specials on MTV, complete with all the necessary ingredients -- drama, comedy, suspense, and a whole lot of loving.
