St James Power Station To Boost Singapore Nightlife Scene

By PC

There's Zouk and Ministry Of Sound... now look out for St James Power Station, the largest one-stop nightlife destination in Singapore comprising of nine outlets spread over 60,000 sq ft. The highly anticipated club venue is scheduled to open its doors in the last quarter of the year.

Occupying the premises of Singapore's first coal-fired power station built in 1927 and situated at the HarbourFront precinct, the diversity of choice live entertainment and music styles in this one location will ensure there is something for everyone.

Said Andrew Ing, Chief Operating Officer of St James Power Station, "Our concept is about having many outlets for many people in one location, ensuring there is always something going on over here, on any night of the week. We hope this will encourage more people to go out and actually increase the market size, similar to what happened when Mohd Sultan Road took off in 1997/98."

According to its official press release, St James Power Station has been 2 years in the making -- developed at a cost of S$40 million and with potential staff strength of over 350. It is headed by industry stalwarts Dennis Foo and Andrew Ing, whose combined experience in running Europa and Zouk respectively bodes well for the future of St James Power Station.
