Nominees Unveiled For The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards 2006 !

MTV, the world's largest network and the country's favorite music channel, gathers its entire family together for the most exciting awards event of the year.

The most diverse group of artists comprises this year's crop of The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards nominees. On August 14, the best and the brightest of the past year's batch of musicians and music video makers will be given due recognition, on a night filled with the most thrilling surprises and performances never before seen in The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards history.

Hot new categories such as Favorite Rock/Hip hop or R&B/Pop Video and Technical Awards like Best Cinematography and Best Editing are mixed with more established MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards categories, which include Favorite Male/Female Artist in a Video, Favorite New Artist in a Video, and Video of the Year. Smart Buddy, the Presenter for The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards 2006, is also honoring the year's main chart-toppers with the SMART Hitmaker of the Year Award.

The MTV Pilipinas Video Music Awards 2006 kicks off the month-long celebrations on July 7, 2006. MTV then brings the party to different malls, bars and campuses across Metro Manila, on a promotional tour that features performances by some of your favorite nominees. The festivities will culminate with an epic awards show on the main night at Casino Filipino.
