It's A Girl For Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt
By MTV News staff report (MTV.com)
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a new little Shiloh to call their own.
Jolie gave birth to a daughter in the African nation of Namibia on Saturday (May 27), The Associated Press reports. Pitt's publicist announced the arrival of the baby girl, which the couple named Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. Jolie and Pitt have not released further information on the birth. This is the first biological child for both. Shiloh Nouvel joins adopted siblings Maddox and Zahara.
A goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Jolie traveled to Namibia with Pitt to privately prepare for the birth of their child. The couple, who were linked after co-starring in 2005's Mr. & Mrs. Smith, announced the pregnancy in January. Though the couple did not confirm the baby's due date, Pitt sent an e-mail to the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday to say he was unable to attend the premiere of his film Babel due to the child's "imminent arrival."
The government of Namibia has guarded the couple's privacy since their arrival in the African nation, refusing visas to reporters, twice arresting a photographer who followed Jolie, and setting up barriers to shield the family.
