Jessica Simpson, Colin Farrell To Present At MTV Movie Awards

The Frankenstein monster known as the 2006 MTV Movie Awards continued its assemblage Monday (May 22), gaining one of the hottest pair of legs in Hollywood, a razor-sharp tongue and an evil brain.

Daisy Duke diva Jessica Simpson, Colin Farrell and Amanda Bynes will present awards at the irreverent awards show, which will air Thursday, June 8, at 9 pm ET/PT. Lex Luthor himself, Kevin Spacey, will help mastermind the presentations with some help from four-letter-word aficionados Samuel L. Jackson and Dane Cook and more.

Expect the show to get "Crazy" when the red-hot Gnarls Barkley grab the mic for a performance while the stars get their makeup retouched backstage. The forward-thinking group joins a musical hodgepodge that also includes resurrected "Dirrty" girl Christina Aguilera and brooding punks AFI.

Although Simpson, Spacey and Snakes On A Plane star Jackson will undoubtedly add some memorable flavor to the MTV Movie Awards stew, it's the rare appearance by Farrell that could be the talk of the evening. The Miami Vice star will present a Golden Popcorn in one of his first public appearances since December, when his notorious party-boy image culminated with the divulgence of substance abuse and a sex-tape controversy.

Overseeing the festivities will be previously announced host Jessica Alba. The new presenters join a formidable list that includes Kate Beckinsale, Jamie Foxx, Owen Wilson, Justin Timberlake, Matt Dillon, Will Ferrell, T.I., Kate Hudson, Ludacris, Rebecca Romijn, Kate Bosworth, Famke Janssen, John C. Reilly and Brandon Routh.

This year's MTV Movie Awards will be taped at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, California, and will premiere to audiences nationwide on June 8 at 9pm ET/PT on MTV. Topping the list of nominees are the comedic blockbusters 40-Year-Old Virgin and Wedding Crashers, with five nominations apiece. Also vying for the spotlight are Batman Begins, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, Hustle & Flow, Sin City and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith with three nominations each.
