Death Cab, Franz Ferdinand Teaming Up For Indie-Riffic North American Tour
By James Montgomery (MTV.com)
Maybe they could call it "The Sensitive and the Scottish." Or perhaps "Franz Cab for Cutie." Whichever clever name they decide upon, it's official: Death Cab for Cutie and Franz Ferdinand are teaming up for a co-headlining tour of indie-riffic proportions, set to kick off this spring.
On Thursday (February 2) representatives for both bands' labels confirmed -- via a breathlessly written press release -- the "tour of which dreams are made," a North American jaunt that gets under way on March 22 in Portland, Oregon, and comes to a close on April 26 in Canada.
Both DCFC and FF have spent much of the past half-year crisscrossing the globe in support of their respective new albums, Plans and You Can Have It So Much Better. They've each also recently signed on for big-ticket U.S. festival appearances later this year, as Death Cab have committed to the Bonnaroo fest in June while Franz will play Coachella three days after the Franz Cab tour ends.
An on-sale date for tickets has not been announced, though it is expected to be sometime around February 9 or 10.
