Joey Fatone And Lance Bass Moving On -- And In -- Together
By Gil Kaufman (MTV.com)
With an *NSYNC reunion looking less and less likely, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone are moving on together. Actually, they're moving in together.
The boy band refugees are developing a hybrid reality/comedy show for UPN tentatively titled "Out Of Sync" in which they would star as a modern-day "Odd Couple," according to an Associated Press report.
Bass, who has spent most of his *NSYNC downtime trying to be blasted into space, would play the fussy Felix character. Fatone, who has appeared in movies such as On the Line (co-starring Bass), My Big Fat Greek Wedding and The Cooler, as well as on Broadway in Little Shop Of Horrors, would play the slob, Oscar.
UPN president Dawn Ostroff said the show is planned for the fall. "They came to us," she told the AP. "Joey and Lance are such fun, interesting people and they truly are an odd couple -- even if you sit in a room with them, it's Felix and Oscar in many ways." Ostroff called the idea a "classic kind of story" that could resonate for a new generation.
While *NSYNC -- which also features Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez -- have never officially broken up, the group has been on hiatus since Timberlake went solo in 2002 with his multiplatinum Justified album.
Chasez released his solo debut, Schizophrenic,, two years later. Timberlake, who has also branched out into acting with parts in several upcoming films, is hard at work on his follow-up album, which is due out later this year.
