Gorillaz Ground-Breaking 3D Performance To Be Unveiled To The World At The MTV EMAs

By News Desk

Completing this years' stellar MTV Europe Music Awards lineup, virtual pioneers Gorillaz are set to perform a worldwide exclusive at the MTV Europe Music Awards, it was announced today.

The four-piece, who have garnered multi-million sales of their latest album "Demon Days," are set to break technological boundaries at the Awards with a revolutionary hologram-style animated performance in 3D with album collaborators De La Soul live on stage.

In line with Gorillaz inventive approach to delivering music, this will be the first time that this kind of technology has been used as part of a live music TV performance, anywhere in the world.

"Demon Days," the follow up to the Gorillaz eponymous debut album, was launched earlier this year with the potent "Feel Good Inc" which has been nominated for "Best Video" at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2005. In addition, Gorillaz have also been nominated for "Best Group," "Best Song" and "Best Pop" and "Best UK & Ireland Act" at the Awards which air live on November 3, 2005.

"Demon Days," an intense, heavy fusion of influences across hip-hop, rap, dub, Latin and African combined with clean, relentless rhythms, features collaborators including Neneh Cherry, Roots Manuva and Shaun Ryder (who features on Gorillaz current single "DARE") and has achieved massive worldwide success, including awards for "Breakthrough Video" and "Best Special Effects" at the MTV Video Music Awards 2005.

Gorillaz' rare and ground-breaking performance of "Feel Good Inc" at the MTV Europe Music Awards will set new standards for digital innovation and visual identity.

Mexican movie star Diego Luna (Y Tu Mama Tambien), R&B singer-songwriter-pianist John Legend and feisty pop trio Sugababes are confirmed to present at the glittering MTV Europe Music Awards alongside Alison Goldfrapp, Anastacia, Brittany Murphy, Craig David, Gael Garcia Bernal, Jared Leto, Luis Figo, Sean Paul, Shaggy and tATu with more presenters to be announced.
