By News Desk
Lisbon will be red hot on 3 November 2005 when the Pussycat Dolls perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards. They join Akon, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Madonna, Robbie Williams, Shakira, System Of A Down and The Black Eyed Peas at the event, which will be hosted by the unpredictable "Borat" from the Sacha Baron Cohen stable of characters.
The Pussycat Dolls, exploded to the top of the international charts with the 2005 summer smash 'Don't Cha' featuring Busta Rhymes. The dance-style revue, which was originally formed back in the early 90s, has seen many members in its evolving lineup including a host of guest star performers such as Christina Aguilera, Charlize Theron and Gwen Stefani. Now a sassy 6 piece pop act and hot on the heels of the launch of their debut album PCD, the Pussycat Dolls will perform a sizzling fusion of urban pop and dance at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2005.
Disco/electro siren Alison Goldfrapp, dazzling movie star Brittany Murphy (8 mile, Sin City), Latin American film icon Gael Garcia Bernal (Motorcycle Diaries, The King), Hollywood star and rock musician Jared Leto (Requiem For A Dream, Lord Of War), ragga-pop master Sean Paul and Grammy award-winning dancehall king Shaggy will join Anastacia, Craig David, Luis Figo and tATu as presenters at the Awards, with one more performer and more presenters to be announced.
With 2 weeks left until the Awards, voting has already smashed records by breaking through the 5 million barrier. Each Awards category is voted for online by MTV's audiences, apart from Best Video and the Free Your Mind Award which is chosen by MTV. In addition, for the first time, the Best Song category can also be voted for by WAP. In 2004, the MTV Europe Music Awards generated more than 12 million votes.
