Electrico And Disagree Live At Rouge
By Jocelyn Chua
Two rocking hot bands in one rocking hot bar -- what better way to spend your Friday night on March 25, 2005 than to catch Electrico and Disagree in a life performance at the Rouge club!
Formed by high-school buddies Zahid and Hamka in 1995, Disagree was later completed by Aziz and Ashroff after the original foursome -- Zahid, Hamka, Lan and Amir -- recorded their first demo Never Cry Wolf in 1996. Inspired by cathartic modern rock groups like Pearl Jam and Creed, Disagree generates a powerhouse of guitar-driven tunes enhanced by lead-singer/guitarist Zahid's stirring vocals. After experiencing a 10, 000-strong audience at their first Rock The World Festival, Disagree started an arduous five-year gigging spree, jamming like there was no tomorrow until the band finally inched their way into the spotlight. 2001 saw Disagree recording their second demo Homemade Jam which gained radio airplay on Wow FM and Hitz, as well as garnering widespread applause in the music community. Among other credits, Disagree also supported Hoobastank in their KL concert and recently won radio station Hitz.FM's Most Air Played award. Having released their debut album At The End Of The Day which sold more than 1, 000 copies in Malaysia within its first weekend in February 2004, Disagree went on to appear as the guest band for Power 98's PowerJam competition finals.
Likewise, Eletrico has been steadily taking over local airwaves since their album So Much More Inside was released in August 2004 and their first single I Want You shot to No.1 on Perfect 10 just two months later. Next came Electrico's follow-up single Runaway in November 2004 which featured over Power 98, Perfect 10 and Class 95 FM within a week of its official radio release, as well as gaining airplay in Thailand and the Philippines. Electrico's Runaway music video also stormed the region over MTV Asia. Made up of lead-vocalist/guitarist David Tan, bassist Desmond Goh, keyboardist Amanda Ling, guitarist Daniel Sassoon and drummer/percussionist/backing vocalist William Lim Jr, Electrico delivers a wildly infectious brand of inspired rock and charismatic grooves. Last seen at the MTV Asia Awards 2005 where the band was nominated for Favourite Artist Singapore, Electrico has also toured Australia, played to over 20,000 people at the Esplanade's New Year's Eve concerts and will soon be performing at the Pattaya International Music Festival in Thailand next weekend.
Don't miss this opportunity to rock your heart out with two of the most promising regional bands at this one-night only doublebill on March 25 at Rouge!
