Brandy Developing Weekly TV Show For FOX
By Corey Moss (MTV.com)
After three years away from television, Brandy is plotting her return.
The singer/actress, who starred on UPN's Moesha from 1996 to 2001, is developing a half-hour series to star in for FOX, according to her reps. The concept for the show is still up in the air, as is when it will hit the airwaves.
Brandy, who started her entertainment career as a sitcom actress on ABC's short-lived Thea, is working on the show with Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the executive producers behind her two TV musicals -- 1997's Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella and 1999's Double Platinum with Diana Ross.
Sonja Norwood, the singer's mother and manager, will also co-produce and has already been meeting with writers.
Brandy's return to TV has so far not slowed down her music career, as she just shot the second video from Afrodisiac and contributed to a "We Are the World" -- like all-star remake of "Wake Up Everybody." The singer is also set to present at the MTV Video Music Awards.
