Stellar Cast To Brighten MTV Pilipinas 2004

On Thursday, July 1, at the PSC Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA) in Pasig City, Gary Valenciano and Paolo Santos will pull out all the stops with MTV Pilipinas 2004 People's Choice Awards nominees Bamboo, Barbie's Cradle, Jimmy Bondoc, Jay R, Nina, and Nyoy Volante to liven up what promises to be the biggest yet awards show that MTV Philippines has thrown together.

Similarly inspiring will be performances by Australian Idol champ Guy Sebastian and well-liked Irish pop act Bellefire, as well as co-hosting chores by Asia's latest spectacle and Thai pop icon, "Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy" Tata Young, alongside nutty local entertainers Randy Santiago and Michael V. Not to be outdone will be the array of dazzling presenters and guest stars including your favorite MTV VJs KC Montero, Sarah Meier, Patty Laurel, Marc Abaya, and Cindy Kurleto, who will give away the evening's surprise awards.

Previously, Favorite Male Artist nominee Bondoc thanked the jurors and public for their continued support for local culture and music, saying he was "just happy" over his nomination which he considered "a bonus." He also hoped his new music video, "Akin Na Lang Sana Siya," would similarly be appreciated despite having been shot "with only a Handycam and for less money."

Gloc 9, another Favorite Male Artist nominee, couldn't agree more. "I am flattered and grateful, and treat [my nomination] as a gift; it's an honor." Without a doubt, it should be for one like Gloc 9 who works full-time as a music researcher for a local television network and whose music is only "a hobby."

Those of you eager to know the winners but who will be unable to catch the live show this Thursday may tune in Saturday, July 17, 3 pm, on MTV (Channel 41 for free TV or non-cable subscribers, as well as Home Cable and Sky Cable subscribers). Replays will run on Sunday, July 18, 9 pm; Tuesday, July 20, 3 pm; Friday, July 23, 7 pm; and Saturday, July 24, 10 pm.
