SINGAPORE/HONG KONG - 6 February 2004: A galaxy of stars will descend upon Valentine's Day at the MTV Asia Awards 2004. Joining the starry list is the addition of tempestuous teens, t.A.T.u, Singapore songbird, Stephanie Sun, China's hot favourite, Pu Shu and Singapore's hip-hop group, Urban Xchange. These artists will be joining the stellar lineup of international and Asian stars to thrill more than 7,000 spectators at the event and broadcast to more than 150 million households in the region.

Tearing down walls throughout the brave new world, t.A.T.u became the most explosive and controversial act in Eastern Europe last year with the scandalous single "Ya Soshla S Uma" ("All The Things She Said"), the story of a love affair between two young girls, whose evocative video was named MTV Russia's Video of the Year. 200 km/h In The Wrong Lane, t.A.T.u's 2001 debut album, sold more than one million copies and their performances draw more than 50,000 fans at a go. Nominated for the Favourite Breakthrough Artist category, they will definitely spice up the show!

Singapore's homegrown songbird, Stephanie Sun, reigned in the Favourite Artist Singapore category for MTV Asia Awards in both 2002 and 2003. She is nominated for the same category this year and only her fans' votes can determine if she will be walking away with the trophy yet again! Making waves across the region, Stephanie sings like no other and in her recent album The Moment, she once again displayed her vocal prowess and creativity, wowing her fans and attracting even more loyal followings among her listeners.

Nominated for the first time in the Favourite Artist China category, Pu Shu made his first album debut in 1999 and has since won over the hearts of many fans. He also ventured into the big screen business, starring in a movie called Na Shi Hua Kai in 2002. More recently, his hit song "Colourful Days" was the No. 1 song for six weeks on the national charts. Catch him dazzle the audience with his vocal talents.

Singapore's hip-hop group, Urban Xchange is no stranger to the MTV Asia Awards. Nominated for the Favourite Artist Singapore category last year, they will be reunited with fans and audiences this year at the event. More than just a homegrown band, they have been buzzin' in the regional hip-hop scene with their reworked (and retitled) version of their first album This Is How We Get Here. The Awards will undoubtedly be even brighter with the addition of this groovy band.

The 2004 MTV Asia Awards Trophy - Cupid of Love
With the central theme of the MTV Asia Awards being all about love, MTV is proud to unveil this year's award trophy in a cheeky cupid form. The trophy this year underscores the theme and adds a cheeky twist to MTV's interpretation of love. The trophy also has an in-built sound system that plays a love theme.

David Flack, Executive Producer of the Show said, "The theme is love, which just happens to be the subject of almost every popular song ever recorded. But this is MTV, so don't expect it to be all chocolates and flowers, after all Valentine's Day can be wicked as well. The Cupid Award - represents an expression of love for the winners, and there are a couple of naughty details to the trophy, making it MTV's perfect Valentine's Day gift to the winners at the MTV Asia Awards 2004."
