Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Postpone Their Wedding
By Joe D'Angelo (MTV.com)
We have only ourselves to blame. Thanks to the fevered clamoring over even the smallest tidbit of detail on the pending wedding of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, the celebrity couple have postponed their trip to the altar indefinitely."Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date,"the couple said in a joint statement to the press."When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate 'decoy brides' at three different locations, we realized that something was awry."Lopez, 33, and Affleck, 31, were reportedly going to tie the knot on Sunday at an estate in Santa Barbara, California. The 400 invited guests purportedly received phone calls Wednesday telling them to hold the rice. Reporters, paparazzi and TV crews are likely in the process of canceling the reservations they've made at many of the hotels in the coastal town north of Los Angeles."We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised,"the statement continued."We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families and our friends."The postponement has been met with doubt by some who believe that announcement is just a further attempt to throw the media off their trail."I don't see that as even remotely possible,"Lopez's publicist told the wire service Reuters.
