The Parlotones have grown from strength to strength during 2007. With two albums, the South African Music Awards (SAMA) winning Radicontrolledrobot and their latest release A World Next Door To Yours, going Gold simultaneously, sold out performances across South Africa and numerous award nominations and wins, there seems to be no letting up when it comes to what this band can accomplish. Interest from various territories outside of South Africa is inevitable with a band as unique and talented as The Parlotones and the band have obliged by regularly touring the UK over the past year and will continue to do so in 2008.
With the backing of a talented team of publicists and agents, The Parlotones have slowly been selling their wares to the British music lovers. The result of the band's hard work has been regular airplay and interviews across the UK on a variety of radio stations including England's favorite retail store Top Shop as well as some pretty interesting media interest which includes a rave review of one of their London shows in the London metro Newspaper.
Their latest single 'I'll Be There' is a poignant love song that is destined to receive one or two requests at this year's wedding receptions. Their third UK single "Louder than Bombs" will be the single to lead up to the official album release of Radiocontrolledrobot in the UK.
The 5000-capacity Kirstenbosch sold out tickets for their recent Parlotones performance within three hours and the band's entire Barnyard tour has also sold out weeks in advance. Not a force to be reckoned with, The Parlotones are soon set to take Asia by storm. And you heard this here first.
